What Is A Worm?

A ‘worm’ is a type of self-propagating computer virus, examples of which would be Storm or Confiker.

Typically, a worm is a small piece of code, or an algorithm, that copies itself all over a computer or network.

This is usually for the purpose of causing damage, whether that be eating up resources, or shutting the system down.

Their detrimental effect is often similar to that of computer viruses.
