Why Blog Comments Are Full Of Traps

The amount of fresh information that you can get in one day on the internet is staggering. In the past you would get a good amount of information but it was more easily digestible. There were not that many websites back then and only the big time websites would update once a day. Now you can easily become a victim of information overload. There are tons of websites out there now and there is a good reason for that. It has become very easy to set up a website these days. And people who do it use mostly what is known as a blog.

For the most part, blog technology is easy to use. At the very least it is very easy to set up. It might take a little bit more knowledge to really dig into it though. But if you are looking for software that will allow you to quickly post up your thoughts on the internet then look no further than blogging technology. That is why we are starting to see an ever growing amount of genres that blog on the internet. We have genres that are as big as the mommy blog genre to as niche as the dungeons and dragon genre. When it comes to blogs there is something for everyone. You just have to be able to find it on Google.

But getting new information about the genre that you are interested in is not the only reason why people go to the different blogs that they do. They also go because a lot of the blog owners out there like to build up a community of people who have the same types of interest. And you are able to see this community become active through what are known as blog comments. Most blogs have their comments activated because it is a sign that there are a lot of people who visit your blog on a regular basis.

But having a blog with comments can both be a good thing and a bad thing. While it is good to have a community that is active on your website, it is not good how vicious some people in that community may turn out being. Since on most blogs you are able to post anonymous comments, people really take advantage of that fact. They like the fact that they can say anything that they want and no-one will know who said it. It is a cowardly way to use the internet but there thousands of people a day who do not care and they just go on to post nasty comments anyway.

But besides the nasty comments there are also security issues when it comes to blog comments. A lot of people who own blogs shut down comments after a certain amount of days. They do this because they do not want anyone posting dangerous links when they think that no one is looking. These links can go to anything. The problem is that most blogs do not shut down their comments after a certain amount of time. And because of this, the black hat hackers out there are able to use old comments to post malicious links. And people see these links because of Google. They may use a search keyword that makes the old article pop up in the search engine. Then they see this link that seems to be related to the topic and they click on it. Now their computer is infected.

When you are on a blog, you have to be careful when it comes to the links that are posted to it. If you are not careful you could be sent to another page that will make you wish that you were careful.
