Where Can I Learn More About Computer And Internet Security? #4 Javvad Malik

Do you know Javvad yet?

To some he is a security professional. To others he is @j4vv4d. Others may remember him as The InfoSec Cynic.

And here he is in his own words and images:

Mild-mannered security consultant at www.Quantainia.com by day, Cynical Superhero by  night. All opinions are of my alter-ego.

In whichever form you have come across Javvad , and if you haven’t yet then you need to look him up through those links above, then you will know that he is a top bloke who knows his stuff and has a great sense of humour. He also has his own web site…

Over at j4vv4d.com is where you can find Javvad’s alter-ego, the cynical superhero.

Javvad’s personal web site is a great security resource and I can say, in total honesty, that it is one of the first places I check in my feed reader each morning.. One of the best parts, to my mind at least, is the fact that he gets his points across in a very different way to how most security professionals do. And thats via images and, moreso, videos.

You needn’t feel intimidated by the fact that he knows so much though as his videos are very easy to understand, as you can see from this recent one about passwords:

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Of course the point to Javvad’s videos, a point lost on the guy who commented on the one above on YouTube, is that they are designed for people like you so that you can grasp the basics and understand the key points, as well as ask questions and/or start a discussion.

Have you interacted with Javvad yet?

Hes a great guy (I know; I’ve met him) and he’ll make you laugh or smile whilst teaching you the essentials about security in an easy to understand manner.

Check out his web site or follow him on Twitter now.
