Using The Olympics To Attack Viewers All Over The World

This year the Olympics have been held in England and so far it has been a huge success. The people who went to the games and the people who are watching around the world seem to be enjoying what they are seeing. Just like most Olympic sporting events there seems to be a lot of action and intrigue. There are a lot of warm tales from athletes that you will probably never hear from again. And that is part of the appeal of the Olympics. It is one of the few times where you can see someone train for 4 years straight just so that they can have a few moments in the spotlight. They train so hard so that they can stack themselves against the best in the world and see how far they are able to go. Most of the time even the people who do not medal can still consider themselves winners because if they are on that stage then that means that are one of the best in the world at what they do.

Olympic-attacks

While there are millions of people who are watching the events live, most of the people around the globe have to watch them on TV or the internet. And while there have been some complaints about the viewing of the games, for the most part this is going good as well. People are able to see the games live and they can root for their home country through either the TV or the online broadcast. But like with everything else, while most of the Olympic experience has been positive, there have been big gaping negative aspects of the games as well. And unfortunately the black hat hackers of the internet play into that.

Not everyone around the world is able to watch the games in real time. For example in America you are able to watch the games in real time in the morning on TV or online. But you have to be a cable subscriber to see the games online. If you are not a cable subscriber you can watch the games on broadcast TV but you have to wait until later on in the night to do so. That means there is a good chance that you already know the results of the event that you were looking for before you even watch it.

So to go around this fact, there have been a lot of illegal streams put up of the Olympic Games. They have allowed the people who do not have cable to be able to watch the games in real time. While for the most part this is a arguably a good thing, a lot of the people who are providing these streams are not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. They are out to make a profit to and they do that by placing advertising up. But some of them go further than just placing advertising up. They are also placing malware into unsuspecting computer users also. These people are paying a serious price just because they wanted to be able to watch the Olympics in real time.

You have to remember that in the case with a lot of the illegal live streams that you will find, there is always a catch. There is most likely someone trying to make money with this enterprise. And some of the people who are trying to make money will do that by infecting your computer with something nasty. Just remember that when the next big event comes around.
