Back in July I wrote about Thomas Beatie, a man in the United States who gave birth to a daughter in June.
It was one of those stories that sounded like a hoax, but wasn’t.
Now Thomas has just revealed that he is pregnant with his second child.
The 34 year old, who is legally recognised as a man, shared the joyous news in an announcement in a television interview with Barbara Walters of ABC News.
BORN FEMALE
Mr Beatie, born as Tracy Lagondin in Hawaii, underwent gender reassignment in his 20s, though he kept his female reproductive organs so that he could have a family.
Thomas told Barbara Walters that the new baby would be due in early June and that he felt good and everything was going well.
Beatie has been married to his wife, Nancy, for five years and the couple purchased the required sperm from a donor when they decided to start a family.
BABY DAUGHTER
Mr Beatie gave birth naturally to their first child, Susan, after a long labour.
He then told Ms Walters that he did not resume taking his male hormones as the couple wanted to have another baby.
The Beatie’s second child is due on 12 June.
