But of course you don’t believe that.

Do you?

Despite what you may have read on Twitter or elsewhere, Tila Tequila is very much alive.

You could be forgiven for thinking otherwise though as, earlier today, her death was reported via her Twitter account.

Radar Online reported that the fatalistic tweet was issued from Tequila’s account at 2.39 a.m. on Monday, claiming firstly that -

‘Tila Tequila is dead.’

and secondly, a short while later, that -

‘I just broke into her house, killer [sic] her and her dog. Logged onto Twitter to tell you guys. She was signed on already. Tila Tequila is dead.’

However, about an hour later, Tequila logged into Twitter herself and issued a short message explaining that she wasn’t dead and that she had no idea who had authored the earlier tweets.

It turns out that Tila Tequila’s house was indeed broken into and that a lot of damage was done.

She may also have to move in order to evade a possible stalker.

As of now, Tequila has locked her update status on Twitter so no further celebrity death hoaxes are likely to originate from there in the future.

Twitter has been lauded recently for breaking news quicker than the traditional media outlets but this just goes to show that the lack of editorial oversight can easily lead to false news being spread at an alarmingly fast rate too.

You have a good point Morris though in this case it wasn’t so much false news – those tweets really did come from Tequila’s account.
