The Valentine’s Day Embarrassment

If the previous post about Russian dating scammers wasn’t enough to scare you off website dating then the following story may…

The story of French playboy Daniel Anceneaux should be enough to persuade anyone to be aware of the dangers of forming an attachment with someone they’ve met on the internet.

Valentines-day

Anceneaux spent several weeks conversing with, and getting to know, a woman he came into contact with on the internet.

Without the pressures and distractions of ‘real life’ the two found each other opening up and they soon fell in love.

Longing to be together, Daniel arranged a romantic meeting with the woman he loved at a remote beach.

After the meeting, Daniel later said –

‘I walked out on that dark beach thinking I was going to hook up with the girl of my dreams, and there she was, wearing white shorts and a pink tank top, just like she’d said she would.

But when I got close, she turned around… and we both got the shock of our lives.

I mean, I didn’t know what to say.

All I could think was, ‘Oh my God! It’s Mama!’

The above tale is, in fact, made up – by The Weekly World News, a tabloid that reports fictional stories.

That said, it still got syndicated by a huge number of blogs, news services and even featured on the Tonight Show monologue.

Makes you think though doesn’t it.. people obviously worry that something like this could happen whilst playing the dating game!
