The Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion

‘The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion’ is a book which talks of a Jewish conspiracy to take over the world.

It is often associated, by some, with The New World Order or Illuminati even though it is generally recognised as a hoax by others.

The book first appeared in Russia in 1905 and described in detail how Christians’ morality, finances, and health would be targeted by a small but influential group of powerful Jews and Masons.

HOAX

However, scholars, both Jewish and otherwise, believe that The Protocols are not only a hoax but also a copy of another piece of work called ‘The Dialogue In Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu’ which followed similar themes in attacking Napoleon III.

Of course the notion that there is a Jewish conspiracy is nothing new and is a view held not only by conspiracy theorists but by notable others too, such as actor Mel Gibson.

Another famous believer was Henry Ford who paid to have half a million copies of ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ published in 1920.

THE HOLOCAUST

Later, in the 1930s, the Nazi regime used the book in order to justify their holocaust (the reality of which is also debated by some conspiracy theorists) against the Jewish people.

The German leader, Adolph Hitler, even made reference to ‘The Protocols’ in his book ‘Mein Kampf’.

Even today, though largely regarded as a fraud, ‘The Protocols’ continue to attract believers, including Roman Catholic bishops who have recently been reinstated after previously being excommunicated for their beliefs.
