The Illuminati are, some say, a secret society who are planning on global domination through a single world government.
Conspiracy theorists believe that the Illuminati are either in league with, or include, other secretive groups such as the Bilderberg Group and the Masons.

Those who believe that the Illuminati are a conspiratorial group claim that they are behind many major world events, both past and present, including -
- The French Revolution
- The Great Depression
- The assassination of JFK
- 9/11
- The current economic crisis
and a huge number of other significant events.
Theorists suggest that this manipulation of history is part of a grand plan, run over hundreds of years, to unite the world under one government in a situation known as The New World Order.
This, they say, is achieved through their many fronts which are said to include -
- The European Union
- NATO
- The United Nations
- The IMF
- The Federal Reserve
- The World Bank
The Illuminati and their allies supposedly use politics, economics, mind control techniques and various forms of propaganda in order to achieve their aims.
Believers point to various signs and symbols seen in every day life as proof of the existence of the Illuminati, including the presence of a pyramid and eye on the reverse side of the U.S. dollar bill.
Could a secret society such as the Illuminati really exist whilst keeping sufficiently out of the limelight not to be questioned by the masses?
Or are conspiracy theorists seeing things that arn’t there or making spurious connections due to paranoia?
What do you think?

He he, a lizard post
Don’t start on that again Col!
I want to believe.
Erm… believe in what Mark?
The world is a complex place so some people generate complex answers to why their lives are not perfect. I vote paranoia.
That’s not a bad point – some people take a certain level of comfort from conspiracies as they answer questions that otherwise cannot be answered.
