In the past if you wanted to be able to find out information you would have to go to the library. There was not much more than that you could do. If you were one of the lucky ones who had a set of encyclopedias in your house then you could look through those. But even then there was no guarantee that you would be able to get the answer that you were looking for. Now you would have to go to your local library and hope that they had a book with the information that you were looking for.
These days, most of the time, you do not have to go to the library to find the information that you are looking for. No, for most people, all they do is go on the internet and start searching with Google to find the answers that they are looking for. These days when you see people in the library they are still reading and searching for information but they are doing more for the excuse to be around other people and socialize. Or they might be using the computers that are at the library so that they can go on Google there. Not everyone has access to the internet when they are at home. Whatever the case may be, the fact of the matter is that when people need to be able to access information these days, Google is the first place that they look.
But Google like anything else that we use in life is just a tool. And just like any other tool that is out there, it can be used for both good and wrong. It all depends on the person who is using the tool. These days’ people have to realize that everything that they put on the net is going to be archived at some point. And when it is archived that means that anyone who wants to will be able to go on Google and look at the information.
But there is a bigger problem than the bad guys getting your personal information when it comes to Google. No, they can also get information such as your password. This is especially true if you are someone who has a website. Too many webmasters out there will use passwords on a site that is unencrypted and that is easily accessible by search engines. The passwords are accessible because they are embedded in the code that is creating the actual website. That is the same code that is being scanned by Google when they are trying to index your site. So Google does not know whether it is picking up something that it should not be. All the search bots see is information that should be collected and sent over to the Google index.
Just remember that Google picks up everything that it can when it comes to the web. And the bad guys out there know this so they will try to use this information to their advantage. Make sure you do not let them do that.
