Sometimes An Attack Does Not Go According To Plan

When we talk about white hat and black hat hackers a lot of the time we are talking about people who are two different sides of the same coin. While there may be a subtle difference between the two groups, the one big difference is that what one side does is legal and what the other side does is considered illegal. Other than that like we said earlier, these two groups are different sides of the same coin.

The one thing about both groups of hackers is that they like to be precise in how they do things. That is just the nature of the business. They want to be able to plan for any and all contingencies that may come up. Most of the hackers think that the technology is binary by nature so you should be able to predict what is going to happen. But if you have been working in technology for a little while then you know that is not how it happens. Sometimes when you are dealing with technology it seems like it has a mind of its own. Sometimes it seems like you can tell everything that is going to happen before it does and other times it seems like nothing is going according to plan and the technology just wants to mess with you.

The main reason why this happens is not because technology has a mind of its own. It is mostly because the technology that we use in this day and age has so many moving parts that it is hard to keep track of it all of the time. And even though we think that we know the technology real well, sometimes we lose track of what is happening and we cannot predict what is going on. That is why when you sometimes step back and leave the problem for an hour or so and then come back, you are able to see the picture more clearly and are able to figure out the problem a little better than you were able to before.

This happens a lot no matter what side of a cyber attack you are on. When a black hat hacker makes plans to attack a system, he tries to make sure that everything is squared away before he does it. He does not want any surprises because most attacks that take a large amount of planning need to be precise by nature. So when the attack does finally happen and something does go wrong, they need to be able to think on their feet and try to improvise a solution. After all, the art of improvisation is part of being a hacker as well.

The same is true for people on the other side of an attack as well. They need to be able to improvise as well. While you may have a lot computer security protection at your disposal, you have to remember that you are dealing with an unknown variable at the other side of the attack, the person who is attacking you. You never know what a black hat hacker is thinking of doing so you have to be on the lookout for any and all things. The attack can be something simple or it can be something very complicated. The main thing is that you cannot act as if you know everything that is going on while you are in the middle of an attack. That type of thinking can lead you to become surprised very quickly.

No matter what side of the line that you are on, you have to remember that when it comes to technology barely anything goes according to plan. You have to be able to think about and react to unknown circumstances.
