A short while ago legendary InfoSec Rockstar Javvad Malik said that I am, perhaps, a little too humble. And he was probably right. To my mind I’m just some guy who got stuck indoors, with far too much time on his hands, who started writing about information security to keep his mind occupied and to help out a few friends and family.
So imagine my surprise when I popped onto Twitter a short while ago to find an extremely busy timeline that told me I had been included in Tripwire’s list of The Educators!
Not only do I feel shocked but I guess also a little embarrassed that I’ve probably kept far more qualified people off of this list. I honestly do not know why anyone perceives me as being an authority on infosec issues but I certainly appreciate those of you who do.
That said, the fact remains that I have been included, and I would like to thank Anthony, Cindy and the rest of the guys at Tripwire for placing me amongst such honoured and esteemed company.
I’d also like to thank Brian Honan for offering me the role of Social Media Manager at BH Consulting. If he hadn’t of been so generous then I would have already sloped back off into obscurity.
Finally I also have to thank, amongst others, Jitender, Bruce, Raj, Thom and Neira for their support and encouragement along the way – you all inspire me in different ways and, if anything, it should be the likes of you who appear on lists like these.
To John : I may have to reevaluate that last direct message I sent to you
