Move Over Conficker, Koobface Is Here

If you have the slightest bit of interest in internet security then you are almost certainly aware of the Conficker worm.

It has already infected some 15 million plus computers and was predicted to wreak havoc on April 1st just gone.

However, the devastation that security experts predicted never came.

Confiker may well rear it’s head in the near future but, for now at least, one of the more clear and present dangers on the net comes from the social engineering virus known as Koobface.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

The current poll I’m running (in the sidebar to the right) shows that many people were / are concerned by Confiker.

Do you think that Koobface presents an equal risk to your online security?

I’m not so sure that Conficker should be moving over any time soon as it has yet to deliver its payload whatever that is.
