With the death of Michael Jackson yesterday you may be forgiven for not realising that Farrah Fawcett passed away too.
But did you realise that the star of ‘The Fly’, Jeff Goldblum, also died in New Zealand?
The story goes that Goldblum, also of Law And Order : Criminal Intent fame, had fallen to his death from the Kauri Cliffs whilst on the set of his new movie in New Zealand’s North Island.
Of course its not true, the story is a made up hoax that began to gain traction on sites such as Twitter before Jackson’s death seemed to cause everything else in the world to become meaningless for a time.
Goldblum’s publicist released a statement last night saying, “Reports that Jeff Goldblum has passed away are completely untrue. He is fine and in Los Angeles.”
This particular hoax, referencing Kauri Falls in New Zealand has been done before.
Back in 2006 it circulated with the names of Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise in Goldblum’s place but didn’t gather a particularly large amount of attention.
