“Life’s a bitch… and then you marry one”

According to several news reports, a man in southern India, P. Selvakumar, married a female dog on Sunday in a traditional Hindu ceremony in an attempt to atone for killing two dogs by stoning them – an act he believes cursed him.

P. Selvakumar married a sari-draped former stray named Selvi who was chosen by family members before being bathed and clothed for the ceremony at a Hindu temple in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, as reported in the Hindustan Times newspaper.

Selvakumar, 33, told the paper he had been suffering since he stoned two dogs to death and hung their bodies from a tree 15 years ago.

“After that my legs and hands got paralyzed and I lost hearing in one ear,” he said in the report.

The paper further said that an astrologer had told Selvakumar that the wedding was the only way he could cure the maladies.

It did not say whether his situation had improved or not.

Deeply superstitious people in rural India sometimes organize weddings to dogs and other animals, believing it can ward off certain curses.

The paper said the groom and his family then had a feast, while the dog got nothing more than a bun.

This folks, is not a hoax, it is actually a true story!!

Of course similar things also happen in many other countries of the world.
