Make Sure You Add Security Patches To Your System As Fast As You Can

When you are dealing with software that has any kind of size to it then you know that eventually there is going to be a security patched issued. It does not matter which company you are dealing with there is going to be a need for a security patch. When you have software that has millions of lines of code in it there is no way that you can get away with it being perfect. There are going to be mistakes made and then the company is going to have to come back to correct the mistakes. It is a well known part of the process by now. This is especially true if you are someone who has been buying software for a bunch of years.

This is why a lot of companies like to build web apps instead of building software that gets installed in someone’s computer. While there are still security holes that you have to deal with, it is easier to make sure that they are patched up then when you are dealing with a native app. All you have to do is to patch the software that is on the server and you are able to deal with everyone at once. When it comes to issuing patches on the computer you have to hope that everyone is going to take the time and make sure that their computer has been properly secured. And that right there is the major problem with this type of approach. There are too many people who do not patch up their system.

There are many reasons why people do not patch up their systems. Two of the biggest reasons are because they do not know that they need to and laziness. When a patch is issued there are a lot of times when you have to restart the computer to make sure that it is installed. A lot of people do not want to go through that process. At least they do not want to right at that moment. They opened the computer for a reason and they do not want to have to restart it right then and there.

And like we said earlier there are a lot of people who just do not know that they have to install security patches into the computer. While they may understand the concept of the Windows update process they may not understand when a third party app is trying to do the same thing. Not all of the software out there has text that is easy to understand for people who are not technical by nature. To them the letters seem like gibberish and they just click it away instead of updating the software like they are supposed to do.

But when this type of thing happens it is a real problem because those patches being fixed are the ones that the bad guys are targeting. The good black hat hackers out there know that people take a long time when it comes to applying security patches to their machine. So that is why they will target that patch. They know that they will not be able to get every target but they know that they will be able to get enough that it will be worth it.

So that is why you have to make sure your systems are patched up as soon as possible. The bad guys look to see what new patches are being issued and they use that as their entrance. And you will be one of the ones letting them in if your machine is not patched up.
