The wonderful thing about the web is that you have many ways to be able to expand what you have learned in school. And there is no age limit to begin your learning either. It doesn’t matter if you are 16 or 55 the information is there without anyone having to feel awkward because they are too old to be in class.
Not only does the web allow you to expand your knowledge base fairly easy but it also gives you a lot of different formats in which to do it in. No one learns the same way. Some people are better at one format than the other. There are some people who like to learn by reading books. There are some people who like to learn by listening. And there are other people who like to learn through the use of video. If your line of work is in the computer security field and you also are a visual learner than you are in luck. There are tons of security videos from which you can learn from.
Whenever there is a security conference there is usually video that follows. The one thing that people like to do in the security community is to share their knowledge. That is what most of these security conferences are all about. It is people getting together to share what they know with others in their field. But you do not have to go to the security conference live to be able to get an education from your fellow peers. Usually after a few weeks the video from these conferences are available online. And if you are patience you will be able to gain that knowledge as well. There are a few drawbacks from learning like this though. You will not be able to ask any questions that you might have of the participants. You can usually hear the questions from others but you will not be able to ask any yourself. But other than that you will be able to gain a lot of knowledge from the presentations.
If you are in the security community and you want to be able to expand your knowledge then watching videos from a conference is a good way to go.
