Logging Into Twitter From Third Party Services And How Safe Is It Really?

If you pay attention to any sort of media you probably already know how big the social media service Twitter is. Even though Twitter is a web service it really does not matter because it is everywhere. It does not matter if you are watching TV or listening to the radio, you will hear a twitter address at some point in the night. And it is for good reason. Twitter is an excellent service for many different reasons. If you are looking for a service that you can get your news from and it will be able to replace RSS then you should look no further than Twitter. If you are looking for a service which will allow you to be able to follow and connect to people all around the world then Twitter is the service that you should use. And if you are looking for a place to be able to connect to the friends that you know in real life then Twitter is a great service for that as well. Twitter does so many things well that it is no surprise why it is so popular.

There are two other things that are great about Twitter. These have to do with the login abilities of Twitter. With Twitter you are able to use a third party service and not only the web page to be able to communicate with the people on the service. Another thing that you can do with Twitter in regards to the login is the ability to use it to be able to login to third party websites. In other words instead of you having to create an all new account on a different website you can just use your Twitter login and you are then all set.

But why would I want to do that?

It is useful to use a service like Twitter to log into third party websites because it saves you a lot of time and effort in creating another useless account. Not all of the websites out on the web need a lot of information from you when you make an account. They might need your email address, your name, and a few other tidbits of information and that is it. All of that is already provided by Twitter. So if you already have that information on the web why type it all in again.

The reasons are a lot simpler for why you would need a third party service to connect to Twitter. You can just use the web page of course but what if you are on your phone? It is easier to be able to just use a native app on the phone instead of having to use the web page. And sometimes you just do not like how the web page operates. In that case you could use a third party service that just looks and feels better to you.

When it comes to the safety of using third party services as both a replacement Twitter and as a login client is that you have to be careful with who you are using. There are a lot of services out there who can request you use their services and they will be able to get all of your Twitter information once you do. You do not want to trust everybody with that information. That means that when you use these types of services you want to be sure that you use it with third party services that you trust. You do not want everyone to have your Twitter information because that can lead to serious abuse.
