Lindsay Lohan Hitler Tweet Down To Account Hack

October 31, 2012

LiLo fans who follow the star on Twitter may have been left confused earlier by some uncharacteristic tweets that appeared in her timeline. One, specifically, arose suspicion and led to the status update seen below:

Lindsay-Lohan

The first tweet, which may have seemed unusual to some, referred to Hurricane Sandy which has devastated some parts of the US recently:

“WHY is everyone in SUCH a panic about hurricane (i’m calling it Sally)..? Stop projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace.”

But that really did come from Lohan who did not take the opportunity to distance herself from the comment when it was later revealed that a further update -

“How does Hitler tie his shoes? from @oatmeal”

- was revealed to be a result of having her account hacked -

“My twitter was hacked, please ignore the last tweet.”

Personally I’m surprised that only one tweet got out after her account was hacked as the person behind it would surely have been tempted to take advantage of their achievement? But it does serve as a reminder that celebrities on social networks are a ripe target for the bad guys. So if you see something strange posted by your hero then stop and consider that it might not be them…
