Koobface Virus Migrates From Facebook To Twitter

in Malware

I’ve previously written about a nasty piece of malware called Koobface that targets users of Facebook.

Now, however, it seems that Koobface has progressed to that other popular social networking site, Twitter.

Infected machines are leading to bogus tweets being issued from otherwise genuine Twitter accounts every time the user logs in.

Twitter themselves have stated that they are suspending any accounts that they suspect have been infected.

If your account is suspended in such a manner then expect an email from Twitter which will explain what has happened and how you can remove Koobface from your system.
