How Can I Delete My History In Windows Media Player 12?

Have you been watching or listening to something you ought not to have on your computer? Did you do so with Windows Media Player 12? If so, you may want to know how you can clear that item from your list of recently accessed media files in advance of your wife/girlfriend/kids using the computer.

Here is how you do it:

Firstly, open up Windows Media Player. Next, right click on the menu bar and select Tools>Options… (alternatively, press ALT +T together and then press O). You can see what I mean in the image below.

Doing the above will open the Options window which you can see below. Select the Privacy tab as shown. Near the bottom you will see the Clear History button and you should click this.

Clicking the Clear History button will remove your most recently played files list. To the left of that button you will see a check box labelled Save file and URL history in the player. Ticking that box will mean that Windows Media Player will not remember your history in the future either.
