Guy Kawasaki Has Twitter Account Hacked. Spreads Malware Link. Mac OS Users Beware.

Guy Kawasaki’s automated Twitter feed has been hacked.

Some of the venture capitalist’s 130,000+ followers may have seen a tweet which advertised a sexy video of ‘Gossip Girl’ star Leighton Meester.

Unfortunately, however, the corresponding link led to a video which, if clicked to download a ‘codec’, would instead install a Trojan called OSX/Jahlav-C.

Interestingly, this Trojan targets the Mac OS which is normally considered to be virtually immune to such attacks, a situation that has lead to many Mac users not running any kind of antivirus protection.

Read more about this at the Sophos blog.

Did you see that tweet and, if so, did you click on it?

Thats what people get for clicking random links on the web. I would never visit a site at random.

Clicking random links is risky I agree, though Guy Kawasaki is obviously trusted, hence why he was targeted I would imagine.
