You’ve probably received that email by now, you know, the one that offers you a free laptop courtesy of those nice folks over at Sony Ericsson.
All you have to do, apparently, is forward the piece of junk hoax email onto 8 friends in order to receive a free Ericsson T18 laptop.
Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it?
Well, the good news is that there really is a T18 from Ericsson.
The bad news?
It doesn’t come with a full-size keyboard.
Oh well, all is not lost.
You see, you can also take option #2 which is to spam 20 of your friends with the hoax email.
That will earn you an upgrade to the Ericsson R320 laptop which is a huge improvement on the T18, as evidenced by the picture below.
As you can see, the keyboard layout is much improved but this particular laptop still has a low specification.
For example, there is no widescreen and I’m not even sure it has internet, let alone wireless connectivity.
On the positive side, however, you’ll be pleased to hear that the R320 does NOT run the Windows operating system so the likelihood of picking up viruses whilst not surfing are slim.
Of course, if you haven’t already realised, the email is a hoax and Ericsson, as nice as they are, are not offering free laptops.
Nor are they about to give away the old cell phones mentioned in the email either so do your friends a favour and delete this email when you receive it!!!
