An App Could Be The Very Thing That Is Leaking All Of Your Information Out Of Your Device

It is not an exaggeration to say that the smartphone is a device that has actually changed a lot of lives. Like the computer before it the smartphone turned out to be a device that answered a lot of questions that we did not even know that we had. It has turned out to be the thing that we were looking for when it comes to mobile computing and you have to remember that we are only at the beginning of the revolution. There is a lot more that can be done when it comes to smartphones and we are most likely going to start seeing that soon. But when it is all said and done you have to remember the biggest game changer that came with the introduction of the smart phone and that is the apps.

Just like with a normal computer, with a smartphone you have a large diverse amount of apps that you can install anytime that you want to. The apps run the whole gamut when it comes to selection. You are able to get game apps, business apps, geo location apps, note taking apps, and many more. The list is just too long for us to mention in this article. Like we said earlier, the apps are what brought people to the smartphone in the first place. They love the idea of a customizable phone and the sales numbers prove that fact. But everything’s not alright when it comes to the apps that are on your phone. There are some problems that you have to worry about as well. And that is what we are going to take a look at in this article.

When you install apps on your phone you might be aware that it does ask you certain questions before the process begins. The main questions that it does ask are what kind of permissions are you going to give that app when it comes to usage on the phone. Are you going to allow the app to connect to the internet? Are you going to allow the app to be able to see your contacts? Are you going to allow the app to be able email people on your behalf? There are these questions and a lot more that you will see when you are installing the app. And there is a good reason why these questions are asked.

The questions are asked because the maker of the phone wants you to know what that app is doing at anytime. And they want you to be aware of the kind of actions that the app wants to perform when it is on your phone. If you downloaded an app so that it can give you a pretty picture on your phone and all of the sudden it is asking to see your contact list then this is an app that you need be aware of. And there is a good chance that you do not want to install that app. If you installed an app for one purpose and it is asking permission to do another then you might want to move on.

There may be some things that the app is doing that you would be surprised about but it is legitimate. For example there are a lot of apps that ask to have access to the internet. That is because they serve up ads and the ads need to be able to access the internet. That is how the app developer gets paid so it is necessary.

So just remember, that if you are not careful your app can give up a lot of information about you. Make sure you check the permissions to make sure it is not doing just that.
