2009 – Year Of The Panda? Nope, It Was Year Of The Malware

Bill Mullins, who writes an excellent security blog, picked up on an interesting report which I would have otherwise missed out on.

PandaLabs Annual Malware Report seems to have restored his faith, in perhaps an unfortunate way, that malware and other internet nasties are still a big deal.

The report has highlighted many new strains of malware in 2009 – over 25 million of them in fact – with fake antivirus scams being some of the most prevalent threats of the last year.
