I learned many long years ago how to put together a strong password; I also use a different password for every web site that requires one.
Use my name, date of birth, house address or any common name or word? Not a chance.

What techniques do you use to remember your passwords?
I am an idiot as I was using #6 up until a minute ago when I read this.
Oh and also where they use their date of birth. If someone is determined enough they can probably find out both of those online.
Another good one is where people use their name as their password.

Very true – I think some people would be shocked to learn how much information about them can be found easily on the internet.
